Gary Cook came out of retirement to be the pastor of Gaston Oaks Baptist Church.  Dr. Cook says, "while serving as Interim Pastor for nine months I began to be caught up in Gaston's new vision for their future and golf does not hold my interest like a church's mission does.  Gaston Oaks Baptist Church had a long and documented history in involvement in International Missions and in recent years had become aware of the reality that North Dallas had become an international mission field.  The church is literally surrounded by people from many different parts of the world.  Many of those people are refugees looking for a fresh start in their adopted land of America.  The church for several years has provided worship space for various ethnic congregations but more recently has taken steps to move towards becoming a truly International Church.  If you are interested in helping people from all over the world right here in Dallas, Gaston Oaks Baptist Church may well be the church you are looking for."
