We feel it is important for our youth ministry to have an identity so that our youth can better understand and share what it is we do. This has given us a very distinct focus and purpose. Our youth group is “R.E.D.” This stands for “Radically Equipping Disciples.”

When we say radical, we are thinking of Jesus, He broke the mold and went against the stale religion of His day. He shared openly and stood up for what was right. Our desire is to equip our youth with the skills and Bible knowledge needed to be such “radical disciples.” Not, crazy or unorthodox but willing to stand up for their faith and go against the flow of media, peer pressure and temptation that is so prevalent in our society today! Missions, service and discipleship is key to our groups’ growth.

Our purpose verses are Matthew 28:19-20 which reads, Therefore, Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. This verse tells us to make disciples, baptize and then teach all that the Lord commands, these are the very core of our group and we’re excited to see what happens as we strive to fulfill our purpose in our church, our community and our world!
